2005-05-30 - Shuttle to host World Cyber Games 2005 Taiwan
Shuttle Inc, the leading designer and manufacturer of small form factor (SFF) computers and accessories, has unveiled plans to host the World Cyber Games (WCG) event for Taiwan in August this year. Taiwan’s best gamers will fight it out for their chance to compete on the international stage at the WCG grand final event to be held in Singapore later this year.

Hardware, software, and the cyber athletes themselves."
Partnering with several industry leaders, including Hinet, Intel, NVIDIA, Adata, Logitec, Sparkle, Yahoo, and Bahamult, Shuttle hopes to make the Taiwanese WCG heats, the country’s number one gaming event for this year. Over 2000 participants will compete head to head and in teams, playing popular gaming titles including Counter-Strike, Halo, and, WarCraft 3.
As hosts for the event, Shuttle will provide customized XPC systems based on the XPC SB83G5 on which the gamers will play. The rest of the XPC configuration will include Intel® Pentium® 4 570J (3.80GHz) processors, Sparkle SP-PX43DH GeForce 6600 graphics cards, and 512MB DDR500 RAM manufactured by Adata. Logitech will provide various peripheral devices to complete the systems.
Online registration begins on June 1 and runs until June 30, after which regional heats will be held in 3 locations around Taiwan. (16-17 July Kaohsiung, 23-24 July Taichung, and 30-31 July Taipei.) Winners for each of these will go on to compete in the national final held on 27-28 August.
