 "The Shuttle XPC mini X 100 is a fantastic example of a small form factor PC," say the editors of the British multimedia website C-NET. Shuttle's latest addition for "anyone who wants a small, quiet computer" recently paid a visit to the labs of C-NET standing its ground brilliantly.
"Shuttle was among the first to develop barebones small form factor (SFF) cases that could be assembled to a specification of the user's choice," state the editors of C-NET. The Shuttle XPC mini X 100 continues the range of small and sleek products and convinced the editors just like the Shuttle XPC M1000 did in an earlier review.
"The XPC mini X 100 is a lovely looking unit," describe the editors of C-NET the design adding it is "only slightly bigger than a large hardback book." The front panel includes a dual layer DVD writer, 1x USB 2.0 connector and a "cleverly positioned, discrete memory card reader." When the editors inserted a disc the DVD drive didn't "make the noise of a cat being strangled when a disc is inserted or ejected." Another proof of low noise operation is the integrated graphics engine ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 that "doesn't require lots of noisy cooling" and its external power supply making the Shuttle XPC mini X 100 "barely audible when idling and doesn't get much louder when running demanding applications," praise the editors. Performancewise, the X 100 is a "solid everyday machine" that managed "more impressive" benchmark scores than a competitive product. The graphics performance delivered will "happily run most modern games," explain the editors.
To sum it up, the Shuttle mini X 100HA "has fantastic looks and great potential to be part of a multimedia home setup."
