Shuttle goes to school
Tiny space-saving mini PCs from the market leader Shuttle make the everyday life of teachers easier and make it more interesting for pupils.
Multimedia has entered nearly every home by now, but still cannot be found in many German classrooms. Humming cassette recorders, old video tapes and even older televisions are the only poor technical equipment still found at many schools in Germany.
Nowadays, pupils have to learn how to deal with PCs and need multimedia at school in any lessons. However, reality is unfortunately different due to the circumstances mentioned. Internets and other modern media would help to increase interest and boost their success in learning.
The company of KINDERMANN now offers a solution for easy use of media in classrooms without having to worry about the safety of the hardware. In close cooperation with specialists from education and presentation KINDERMANN has developed the “KINDERMANN Multimediapult." Ergonomics, educational interests and the employment of latest digital technologies are incorporated in this innovation made of the classical elegance of beech. The desk measures 72 x 150 x 72cm (H x L x D) and has two little cupboards with one adjustable bottom each. The cupboards are separately lockable providing a maximum level of security. Stereo system, Shuttle XPC mini PC and flat screen are best protected from theft and vandalism. The multimedia equipment consists of a vast extent ofcomponents. From the XPC, flat screen to the projector, from a performance stereo system to its high connectivity with interfaces for an array of peripherals such networking and internets. Moreover, there is also room for a DVDplayer or a video recorder. The entire setup is powered and connected with only one single cord. To hook up additional peripherals such as printers, scanners or overhead projectors , a generous number of USB connectors and sockets are available on both sides of the desk.
This cleverly design desk is ready to use within seconds. Built around a mini PC based on the Shuttle XPC Barebone SN68SG2 this user-friendly multimedia desk is ready immediately. It merely takes 60 seconds from opening up the classroom to projecting the first image onto the wall. Days of having a PC boot almost the whole lesson are fortunately gone.
A built-in mirror on top of the desk helps to project documents and presentations onto the screen. The teacher can easily see the projection or follow and even navigate a presentation via the flatscreen while always keeping an eye on the pupils.
Thus the KINDERMANN multimedia desk for classrooms offers optimal conditions to organize creative classes in every respect while providing constant access to the internets and keeping up high security standards. To round things off, a solution that couldn't have been any better – a solution that meets any requirements.
