Shuttle XPC Barebone supports Intel Pentium D with 65nm core

The Shuttle XPC Barebones SD31P (BIOS SD31S019) and SD36G5M already support the new processors:

At begin of January 2006 Intel has released the second family of dual-core desktop processors: the Intel Pentium D 900 sequence, codenamed "Presler". In contrast to the predecessor (codename "Smithfield", 800 sequence) it is produced using the 65 nm semiconductor fabrication process instead of 90 nm, which results in lower power consumption. In addition, the Presler core features Intel's virtualization technology (VT, see below). These processors are supported by mainboards with a modern Intel Express chipset starting from 945G (Lakeport) and appropriate BIOS update.

In addition, Intel introduces the Pentium 4 6x1 series with 65nm Cedar Mill core as successor of the 6x0 series with Precott-2M core. Also here the manufacturing process has been shrinked from 90nm to 65nm, but Cedar Mill still not supports the Virtualization Technology (VT).

The Shuttle XPC Barebones SD31P (BIOS SD31S019) and SD36G5M already support the new processors:

Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT, codename "Vanderpool")
Intel® Virtualization Technology enables one hardware platform to function as multiple "virtual" platforms. For businesses, it offers improved manageability, limiting downtime and maintaining worker productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions. In the home, it allows creating unique user environments for multiple family members looking to use the same platform simultaneously. (supported only on Pentium D 900 sequence). Intel Virtualization Technology requires a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, enabling software and/or operating system, device drivers and applications designed for these features.
