The Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH grants a two year warranty for all Shuttle TFT models. The warranty is two years from the date of purchase. It includes a pick-up, repair and return service (the hotline numbers of our service provider can be founde here).
The warranty covers the following points:
- Total blackout of the device (no picture)
- Failure of powersupply
- Material defects, fabrication defects
- Dead pixels (as described in detail at the following part)
For a better understanding of the examples, here are some technical informations concerning the "Thin Film Transistor" technology:
- a pixel consists of the colours (Sub-Pixel) (red, green and blue)
- to show the colour all three Sub-Pixel light up and show a white dot
- if you have a error at a single Sub-Pixel, you will see a coloured dot at the screen which lights enduring
- at errors of three Sub-Pixel a white dot lights endurings or doesn't light anymore
Maximal acceptable Sub-Pixel error ratio |
3 light (or blinking) single colour pixel |
6 dark (or blinking) single colour pixel |
examples:
visible error on the display |
Case of warranty |

Normally noticed as 1 Pixel failure |
A (1) white dot (= 3 light Sub-Pixel) and also a (1) red dot (= 1 light Sub-Pixel) = at all 4 light Pixel |

This guideline allows (for your advantage) much less errors then the recommendation of the ISO13406 norm, This is the standard at the market.
