Shuttle Launches Sales of the X27 Nettop Platform
 Compact Energy Saver with an Intel Atom Processor
Shuttle Inc., the market leader in the mini-PC segment and manufacturer of Multi-Form-Factor solutions, today announces the availability of its first nettop Barebone, the X27. This compact Mini-PC Barebone features extremely low power consumption and also puts quiet operation in focus.
Despite its space-saving height of 7 cm and a volume of just 3 litres, this new mini-PC solution provides enough space for an optical slim-line drive. Designed with coated surfaces and mirrored plates, the X27's optical drive and front panel connectors are elegantly hidden behind flip-down drive doors offering ideal protection. Based on Intel’s Atom platform, this model runs on an external, fanless 60W power supply and provides whisper-quiet operation. Ideal for daily use of the internet and office applications.

The Intel Atom 230 processor with Hyper-Threading used in the X27 harmonises with the proven 945GC chipset from Intel. The memory socket supports a 2 GB DDR2 module and the case also has enough space for housing a particularly quiet 2.5 inch hard disk. Dual monitoring is also possible thanks to the VGA and DVI monitor connectors of the Intel GMA950 graphics processor. Surround sound quality with up to six channels is provided, too, and puts a stop to the sound of silence, if desired.
