A golden autumn for gamers: October LAN parties - supported by Shuttle

Summer has come to an end and October is upon us. The weather’s getting colder and the trees are losing their leaves. Perfect reasons, then, to stick your computer under your arm and head off to a dark, cosy hall for a weekend of games. Three big LAN parties - Enlarged and Summit in Germany, and the E-Games Festival in France - are the perfect remedies for October’s autumnal blues.

October’s tour starts on the 5th October with three days’ gaming at the C-MaxX Enlarged. The peaceful town of Alsfeld will play host to 800 participants taking part in WWCL and EA Masters events. Here, you’ll find all the important first-person shooter and strategy games being played.
Of course, for those "non-league" players visiting the 2800 square metre Hessenhalle there are other tournaments to take part in, a catered chill-out lounge, and some lovely service staff (the aptly named "Bar Bunnies") who will ferry food and drinks to the gamers where they sit, as well as stage for the awards ceremonies, and much, much more.

The next stop is Blagnac, near Toulouse, in France. From the 12th till 14th October, the E-Games Festival will attract around about enthusiastic 800 gamers competing in internal PC and popular next generation console (Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3), tournaments. Counter Strike 1.6, Warcraft III TFT, and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 will be battled out on the PCs, while console games will include, among others, Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur III and Tekken 5 DR. On top of the gaming itself, there is an extensive entertainment programme, and special guests, the clan "SK-Gaming", will be performing live.

Finally, it’s back to Osnabrück in Germany for the "Luxury LAN" Summit IX. From the 19th to 21st October over 1,000 participants will pit their skills against each other in the already sold-out Stadthalle. The finals of the WWCL and the Teufel Gamestar Clan League will be contested, as well as numerous "fun" tournaments of different genres. The well being of the guests will be more than taken care of by the roof terrace chill-out zone with its catering, and view of the city. And if more luxury is required, then VIP seats are also available. There is also a large separate movie theatre where most important games featuring the top clans will be shown on a massive screen.

Shuttle’s XPCs are being employed as gaming servers, thus guaranteeing smooth and optimal gaming experiences. We wish all the participants and visitors lots of fun and a great time.
