Dank des nForce2 400 Ultra Chipsatzes ist hohe Performance garantiert. Das Layout ist nahezu perfekt gelungen. Das ganze wird durch ein gelungenes Bios abgerundet, das durchaus einige Übertaktungs-Optionen bietet. Das AN35N Ultra will nicht mit überflüssigem Schnickschnack glänzen, sondern beschränkt sich auf das wesentliche. Es stellt somit nicht nur ein ideales und unkompliziertes Mainboard für den Einsteiger dar, sondern ist auch eine Empfehlung für den Kenner, der genau weiß was er will und was er nicht will bzw. braucht. Das Shuttle AN35N Ultra bekommt somit unsere Empfehlung - Glückwunsch! Pros:

| Bei Shuttle hat man sich gänzlich darauf konzentriert, ein verhältnismässig schlichtes Motherboard mit dem nForce2 Ultra 400 auf die Beine zu stellen. Wie das obige Bild gut zeigt, wirkt die Platine dem entsprechend aufgeräumt. Zugute kommt dies dem Handling, denn alle fünf PCI-Slots können mit Steckkarten voller Baulänge bestückt werden. Gleiches gilt für Prozessorkühler: Da um den CPU-Sockel keine störenden Komponenten platziert sind, kann bedenkenlos auch zu opulenten Modellen gegriffen werden. Die Anschlüsse für IDE und Floppylaufwerk befinden sich im oberen Bereich der Platine, so dass es auch in großen Gehäusen keine Probleme geben sollte. Die Strategie des konsequenten Minimalismus hat Shuttle nicht übertrieben. So kommt zwar nur der MCP anstelle des besser ausgestatteten MCP-T als Southbridge zum Einsatz. Das Soundsystem ist dennoch ordentlich und die Tatsache, dass sowohl der zweite Netzwerkanschluss als auch ein Firewire-Controller nicht vorhanden sind, kommt Anwendern zugute, die solche Komponenten schon in Form von PCI-Steckkarten besitzen. Hier lässt sich durch die Wahl eines geringer ausgestatteten Boards noch etwas Geld sparen. Die im Test gezeigte Leistung des AN35N liegt in den meisten Benchmarks im oberen Bereich, das Systemverhalten war einwandfrei und auch alle wichtigen Funktionen zum Übertakten des Prozessors sind vorhanden. Damit ist das Shuttle-Board trotz spartanischer Ausstattung eine gute Wahl. |
