Conclusions
As I stated at the beginning of the article, the SB61G2 is a Very Big Deal. The lightning-fast turnaround from chipset announcement to cube release is unprecedented for Shuttle, and is hopefully a harbinger of future events. The overclocking features built into the SB61G2 are very impressive, allowing for huge performance gains with the right hardware. (...)  With 8X AGP, Serial ATA, 800MHz front-side bus and dual-channel DDR400 support, this box was made to fly. The idea of a machine with those features appeals to me. The idea of running a screaming fast, 3.3GHz, overclocked config appeals to me even more. And the idea of doing so in a tiny, stylish, quiet box appeals to me most of all.

Wie ich zu Beginn des Artikels bereits gesagt hatte, ist das SB61G2 ein sehr starkes Teil. Die blitzschnelle Reaktion von Shuttle mit mit der Herausgabe seines Würfel als Antwort auf die Verkündigung des Chipsatzes ist beispiellos für Shuttle und hoffentlich ein Vorbote für zukünftige Ereignisse. Die Übertaktungs-Eigenschaften, die das SB61G2 aufweist, sind sehr eindrucksvoll und erlauben einen großen Performance-Gewinn zusammen mit der richtigen Hardware (...) Mit 8X AGP, Serial-ATA, 800MHz FSB und Dual-Channel DDR400 Unterstützung ist diese Box zum Fliegen geschaffen. Die Idee für eine Maschine mit solchen Leistungsmerkmalen findet bei mir Anklang. Die Vorstellung, eine Konfiguration mit sehr schnellen 3,3GHz zu übertakten begeistert mich noch mehr. Und die Vorstellung soetwas in einem winzigen, stilvollen, leisen Würfel zu realisieren gefällt mir am meisten.

Whether it be in the living room, in the office, or at the local LAN party, the Shuttle SB61G2 is sure to offer top-notch performance in any application. In most every respect, the overall quality of the system was exceptional. With more features and functionality than we have ever seen in this small form factor size, the SB61G2 proves to be a potent package. Were one preparing for Half Life 2 or Doom3, they would pair this system with a retail boxed Pentium4 2.4C and be nearly guaranteed 3GHz or better. Add to this one of the latest generation graphics cards and a high quality PCI sound card and you have yourself a system which will rival any PC in the room at your next LAN event should have need of some impressive frame rates. Hier braucht man nicht lange schlußfolgern - Shuttle hat es wieder einmal geschafft ein tadelloses Produkt abzuliefern, das einen weiteren Leistungs-Meilenstein in der Entwicklungsgeschichte der PC-Plattform darstellt. (...) Wir könnten jetzt noch fortfahren und die hervorragende Geschwindigkeit hervorheben oder sogar pathetisch werden, aber wir fügen nichts derartiges zu unseren Eindrücken hinzu. Das entgültige Urteil ist, daß SB61G2 nicht anderes verdient als die "Empfehlung der Redaktion"

(...) the SB61G2 does have an AGP slot and it can be used with any of the current high-end graphics cards which turns the SB61G2 into a screaming powerhouse also with respect to 3D gaming.

Conclusion:
The SB61G2 may not look all that different from the SB51, but there's a much more powerful engine purring under the hood. The introduction of dual DDR, Serial ATA, a better integrated graphics engine, and support for a faster front-side bus are all boosts to the new platform (...) As impressive as the SB61G2 is, however, it's ultimately an evolutionary and not revolutionary design. (...) with each successive release Shuttle is pulling their flagship product closer and closer to the mid-tower's level of flexibility and performance. (...) The SB61G2 is (...) packing one of the most aggressive, full-featured designs available. If you're a user looking to build on the latest and greatest technology Intel has to offer but are unwilling to give up much of the power and flexibility that comes with a full-sized desktop, the SB61G2 may be right up your alley.

Das Gehäuse sieht einfach glänzend aus und ist ebenso effektiv wie nützlich. Der kleine Netzteillüfter und der große Gehäuselüfter (mit Heatpipe-Verbindung zum Prozessor) leisten gute Arbeit. Erstaunlich, dass in diesem kleinen Gehäuse noch eine AGP-Karte und eine PCI-Steckkarte Platz finden, ohne dass die Lüftung zusammenbricht.

The noise of Shuttle's latest product is relatively low. When the Windows desktop is in idle mode the noise is 2.5 Sone, which increase to acceptable 3.1 under full load. (...) With the SB61G2 XPC Shuttle was again successful to offer a stylish device with modern internal components to the market.
