Despite weighing "only 3.4kg," the Shuttle XPC mini X 200 "packs a lot of hardware" under the hood.
Its owner finds a dual layer DVD writer, a hybrid TV-tuner and a 300GB hard disk that is "large enough for a fair amount of music and TV recording," writes Custom PC.
Also part of this configuration is an Intel Core Duo processor, 1GB of RAM and Intel GMA 950, "one of the few integrated chipsets that are compatible with Windows Vista's Aero Glass interface. The package is completed by Windows XP MCE 2005, card reader, numerous USB 2.0 connectors and the included remote control which makes the Shuttle XPC mini X 200 "a breeze to use as a PVR," cite the editors.
The offered DVI to HDMI adapter "is handy for connecting the X 200 to a modern HDTV in your lounge," explains Custom PC.
Moreover, there is wireless ethernet fully-integrated. Thanks to the external fanless power supply the "dinky piece of kit," as the X 200 was dubbed is "exceptionally quiet. In fact, it's virtually inaudible," report the editors.
Performance-wise, the score of 0.93 in Paint Shop Pro image editing was "ample for a PVR."
