PC World UK: "The overall package is very good"

Shuttle has become an established brand in the world of small form factor PCs regularly introducing "small boxes with no performance compromises." The most recent addition to the XPC family is the fully-configured Shuttle XPC P2 3700G that is supposed to "fit the bill perfectly." The editors of the British computer magazine PC World had a closer look at the unit and saw if it lives up to its promises.

"The case has a high-quality, smooth finish," describe the editors the design having just unwrapped the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G. Developed to meet the requirements of power users and gamers, the Shuttle unit showed up in the labs with a "top-end dual core Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor, accompanied by a whopping 4GB of DDR2 677MHz Ram that occupies all four Ram slots," continue the editors with the internal musings.

As it is "attractively designed and light enough to pick up," the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G is the ideal companion when on a trip to a LAN party. "Quad-core buffs" will benefit from Intel's "QX6700 processor" which is also available for the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G.

Conclusion: "Pricing issues aside, the thought gone into designing the layout and choice of components means the overall package is very good." 4 out of 5 Stars

Performance-wise this high-end rig scored 390 in Sysmark 2004 SE390. "This is among the best we've seen," state PC World. The included Nvidia Geforce 7950GX2 graphics card made "gaming at high resolutions a great experience," report the editors. While a 400GB hard disk was already built in, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G offer enough "space next to it for a second hard disk."

The 400W power supply works efficiently, as "a lot of hot air is blown out of the chassis." One may think such a "highly specified system" delivers exceptional performance but roaring sound, should now think again, since the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G "remains quiet even under full load for prolonged periods of time," according to PC World.
