PC för Alla: "Recommended Product!"
"Small box with lots of muscles," describe the editors the Shuttle XPC P 2500G high performance cube that was recently tested by Sweden's largest IT magazine PC för Alla. "Good looking, great performance and format," conclude the editors happily about the Shuttle XPC P 2500G that managed to convince its testers with an overall rating of 8 out of 10.
"Shuttle managed to become established with their tiny PCs everywhere," know the editors of the Swedish computer magazine continuing: "And the Shuttle XPC P 2500G is no exception – and what a fantastic light power package that is." "Most of the powerful PCs come with a big case." This is when Shuttle thinks different and shows that it is possible to set up a PC with the "size of a toaster." This however "didn't stop Shuttle to cram high-end components into the box that also provides good connectivity," explain the editors of PC för Alla.
The review unit that paid the editors a visit was equipped with 2 GB of TakeMS DDR-400 RAM, a large Samsung SP2504C S-ATA II 250GB hard disk, Shuttle CR40 dual layer DVD writer, built-in 8-in-1 card reader and a powerful Radeon X1900XTX graphics card from Connect 3D to even manage most demanding tasks. The package is completed by an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 processor, "which is known for its punch-packing performance." This is not only reflected by video encoding when the editors noticed that "converting video files went really fast," but also its benchmark results were impressive: "It scored 11.231 points in 3D Mark 05. In other words, you can play even latest 3D games without crashes."
Despite its mighty processor, the machine "doesn't get into a sweat" thanks to five cooling fans working inside. A closer look at the front and rear panel reveals that the Shuttle XPC P 2500G doesn't spare connectivity at all, as for example two USB 2.0 ports, 1x FireWire, lautsprecher, 8 channel sound, mic-in and an 8-in-1 card reader can be found. "If your looking for a good home theater pc - there are several options to connect peripherals and the format is perfect for a living room," write the editors of PC för Alla.
Conclusion:
"If you're looking for a small and discrete computer with enough muscles to deal with heavy video clips from your dv cam or your childrens enormous game collection - then this is the right computer for you."
Pros:
- Good looking
- Good performance
- Format
