The Inquirer:

The Inquirer: "It's powerful and can bend it's will to any task"

After having had a look at the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G the editors feel like Aladdin with the genie saying: "All the power in the universe, in an itty bitty living space." The IT experts from the British source of news and reviews The Inquirer are convinced by its performance, looks and service.

Upon its arrival on the labs of The Inquirer, "this very sexy looking box" came up with a "jaw dropping spec sheet," explained the editors. No less than "Core 2 Extreme X6800 CPU running at 2.93 GHz, 4GB of DDR 2 SDRAM, an Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2 dual GPU graphics card, a 400GB S-ATA HDD and a 16x DVD Writer" are included in the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G to deliver the ultimate performance experience. Also included are "a power cable and a box of bits and bobs that contains a quick start manual and 3 CDs" which round off the package.

With regard to connectivity, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G leaves nearly nothing one could ask for, as "two DVI connectors, six USB ports, one Firewire port, a Gigabit Ethernet port, five analogue audio jacks as well as SPDIF Optical in and out and SPDIF Coaxial output" can be found. Even an external S-ATA port and a button to clear the CMOS are attached.

The Shuttle XPC P2 3700G promises a lot, but does it live up to it? In the benchmark tests performed on it, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G proved itself very well and totally convinced the editors of The Inquirer when they wrote: "It all looks good on paper and I'm happy to report it all translates to superb performance in real life."

Its specifications say it all, as "with this kind of spec sheet, you shouldn't need to overclock or upgrade anytime soon anyway," assure the editors predicting a long-term pleasure.

Conclusion: "The whole experience is marvellously simple, you take the unit of its box, you plug it in and it works, not just works, but works well, and if by some tragedy it stops working, someone will come round and make it better."

Since the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G is not only aimed at gamers, but will manage any intensive applications. Working with many tasks and programs running in the background is another good way to its muscles. "Multitasking is a breeze, even crunching several intensive apps it barely breaks a sweat," report The Inquirer. Of course, "games also run superbly well," add the editors.

To put it in a nutshell, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G is capable of handling a most varied range of applications brilliantly, as it is a "PC that would look as perfectly in place in your lounge as it would in your study. It's powerful and can bend it's will to any task, be it a gaming machine, an HTPC or business powerhouse."

There is a two-year collect-and-return warranty applied to the unit so that the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G is covered conveniently. For those who don't need the maximum of performance, "there is a choice of lesser CPUs, GPUs, HDDs and memory, pushing the price down to a baseline to just under £ 800," explain The Inquirer.
