Shuttle – the name that has become unmistakably linked to SFF PCs which are a regular guest in the labs of the British hardware web site Trustedreviews.com This time the editors had the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA sitting in front of them having convinced them especially in terms of feature and design.
"It’s the one I’ve been looking forward to reviewing for quite some time," was the first impression the editors had when they saw the "incredibly cute piece of kit," the little Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA.
"It is fully configurable from the Shuttle website and price can vary considerably, depending on what components you choose," explains Trusted Reviews the possibility to upgrade the X 100.
Having unwrapped the package, the editors were impressed by its looks and shape, as the Shuttle XPC mini X 100HA is "barely larger than an external optical drive."
A blue power indicator that "looks really cool" and a 4-in-1 card reader contribute to the "simplicity of the design."
An external power supply helps to "keep the size down," reduces the noise to an "incredibly quiet" level and "can be easily hidden away."Having turned the unit round, "things look really neat," since the unit revealed "four USB 2.0 ports, plus the one on the front means plenty of connectivity, as well as the six-pin FireWire."
Performancewise, there were "no doubts that properly configured, this system will be able to keep up with the best of them [reference systems]."
