"If you thought Shuttle small-form-factor PCs were dainty, then think again. The XPC P2 3700G provides enough grunt to embarrass most desktops twice its size," states the British online portal C-NET. A clear recommendation goes out to the fastest Shuttle XPC available to date, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G.
"Gaming; video, audio and picture editing; everyday use," is what the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G was designed for according to the British multimedia web site C-NET.co.uk. The "small form-factor PC with high-end performance and graphics" impressed the editors right from its design, as it "makes up for in looks" what it spares in size.Drive doors hiding front panel connectors and optical drives with a "subtle brushed-metal effect" make "great contrast."Having moved on the internal musing the editors discovered that the "interior design of the PC is very clever," says C-NET. "It's hard to imagine how Shuttle has managed to include two PCI Express ports in the box, but that's exactly what it's done. Those are ready to support two graphics cards in ATI Crossfire mode. For the test sample configuration Nividia's high-end graphics card GeForce 7950 GX2 is applied to the unit which "at the time of writing is considered the fastest in the world" boasting "monstrous memory of 76.8GB per second."
Furthermore, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G provides a huge 400GB hard drive that "multimedia file hoarders will love." Performance-wise mattering most for gamers and power hungry users, the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G "racked up by far the highest PCMark 2005 total we've seen in a desktop PC: 7,169." Also in 3DMark 2006 it leaves barely nothing to be desired, as it managed a "total of 8,196, which again is the highest we've ever seen," states C-NET praising the impressive performance delivered. While the editors had a closer look at the fastest configuration available for the Shuttle XPC P2 3700G at the time of reviewing, the unit is "available direct from Shuttle's Web site, which lets you configure the spec to your heart's delight."
