I really liked the Shuttle 56X, and I have no specific complaints to level against this excellent product.

In conclusion, the Shuttle 56X CD-ROM struck me as a device of excellent quality, passed in performance solely by its True X competitors. Its sound quality and ease-of-use are very pleasant. Operating noise caused by vibrations are less than apparent, and quite discreet compared to the Kenwood devices.

En conclusion, le lecteur de CDROM Shuttle 56X m'est apparu comme un lecteur d'excellente qualité dépassée en performance seulement par les lecteurs de type True X beaucoup plus dispendieux. Son écoute musicale et son utilisation se sont révélés sans problème et très agréable. Les bruits d'utilisations autant que les vibrations de ce lecteur de disque sont peu apparents et très discrets comparativement aux lecteurs Kenwood. J'ai sincèrement aimé le lecteur Shuttle 56X et je n'ai pas de reproche spécifique à adresser sinon des félicitations pour un produit d'excellente qualité. Rappelons-nous bien que les lecteurs Kenwood auxquels le Shuttle 56X a été comparé bénéficient de la technologie de lecture à 7 rayons lasers et coûtent beaucoup plus chers que le Shuttle. C'était donc ici une comparaison pas tout à fait équitable pour le Shuttle qui à mon avis s'en est plus que bien tiré en obtenant 3 des meilleures notes sur les 6 tests effectués...

6. Oct. 1999 		 Speed is good, especially the access time - not far of the 80ms quoted speed. Often many high speed CDROM's are either noisy or suffer vibration problems but luckily the Shuttle 56x is afflicted by neither. (...) The Shuttle 56x CDROM also makes short work of CD-Ripping. Under Audio Catalyst the drive sustained speeds around 14x on both inner and outer tracks with no pops or clicks. This is very good performance for IDE. (...) you get good performance, and perhaps more importantly, quiet performance! Many CD drives sound like a helicopter taking off - with about the same level of vibration as well - but the Shuttle 56x noise to speed ratio is really very good.
